23 Οκτ 2012 · Honda Just Issued a new service bulletin today pertaining specifically to 2012 Civic Si's 2-door and 4-door. The title is "Excessive Engine Oil Consumption". Symptom: The engine oil level is low on the dipstick, and. the low oil pressure indicator may come on. Corrective Action:
3 Νοε 2012 · The engine oil level is low on the dipstick, and the low oil pressure indicator may come on. Replace all the engine pistons and the piston rings. Honda has issued a revised service Bulletin 12-069 today 2/27/13. I will post the differences from the original.
15 Απρ 2021 · No Civic had an oil dilution issue. Oil dilution is a natural part of direct injection and there have been no reports at any time of anyone having any actual problem because of it.
10 Σεπ 2014 · There is a pretty noticeable difference in rate of oil consumption based on brand. Mobil 1 seems to burn noticeably more. Not saying it's a "bad" oil, tests and experience indicate it protects just fine, but I suspect it vaporizes more readily, and is burned via crank case ventilation system.

9 Ιουλ 2017 · Oil changed by myself every 4,000-5,000 miles with Castrol EDGE 0W-30 Euro Formula, Honda OEM oil filter, and a Honda drain plug crush washer. I have a Mishimoto PCV side oil catch can that averages 2-4 tablespoons of oil emptied at every oil change. The engine has no oil leaks.
19 Αυγ 2010 · Its time for an oil change in my Si, i'm going to try the 0w-40 and see how my engine reacts vs M1 5w-30 EP and Pennzoil Ultra that i've been using for 70k miles now. (burning roughly 1q every 3k miles)
