14 Φεβ 2023 · Although considered liver injury tests, elevation in any or all of these enzymes does not necessarily mean you have liver damage. These enzymes are produced by other organs as well. For example, AST increases with muscle damage such as in a heart attack or muscle trauma.
9 Φεβ 2022 · Characteristically, AST is often 1.5 to 2 times higher than ALT. However, AST elevations greater than 400 U/L are atypical, and alcohol-associated disease alone should not cause transaminase elevations as high as what is noted in our patient.
Look for signs of serious disease, particularly scarring of the liver, called cirrhosis. Monitor possible side effects of medicines. Liver function tests check the levels of certain enzymes and proteins in your blood. Levels that are higher or lower than usual can mean liver problems.
24 Νοε 2021 · What does it mean if my AST level is high? An elevated AST level may be a sign of a liver condition. Liver disease is even more likely when the results of other liver blood tests are also abnormal.
High levels of AST can be found in cases such as myocardial infarction, acute liver cell damage, viral hepatitis, and carbon tetrachloride poisoning. Slight to moderate elevation of AST is seen in muscular dystrophy, dermatomyositis, acute pancreatitis, and crushed muscle injuries.

For reference, I don't drink, I don't do any recreational drugs and I eat a healthy diet. I am really into physical activity as well.
