  2. 9 Απρ 2021 · In this review, we provide a comprehensive and critical assessment of the repertoire of available methods measuring uracil-containing DNA (U-DNA) in different contexts with a special focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based genome-wide mapping solutions.

  3. 28 Σεπ 2010 · Uracil (U) can be found in DNA as a mismatch paired either to adenine (A) or to guanine (G). Removal of U from DNA is performed by a class of enzymes known as uracilDNA–glycosylases (UDG). Recent studies suggest that recognition of U–A and U–G mismatches by UDG takes place via an extra-helical mechanism.

  4. 16 Δεκ 2002 · Recently, a role for UNG2, together with activation induced deaminase (AID) which generates uracil, has been demonstrated in immunoglobulin diversification. Studies are now underway to examine whether mice deficient in Ung develop lymphoproliferative malignancies and have a different life span.

  6. 10 Αυγ 2020 · Uracil may arise in DNA as a result of spontaneous cytosine deamination and/or misincorporation of dUMP during DNA replication. In this paper we will review: (i) sources of the origin of uracil in DNA; (ii) some properties of the enzymes responsible for the excision of uracil and their role in the I ….

  7. 22 Σεπ 2010 · Uracil may occur in DNA due to either cytosine deamination or thymine replacing incorporation. Its quantitative characterization is important in assessing DNA damages in cells with perturbed thymidylate metabolism or within different DNA segments involved in immunoglobulin gene diversification.
