Experts in speech-language pathology and education have de-veloped and implemented a variety of interventions that aim to improve narrative language for students with and without disabilities (see Spencer & Petersen, 2020). In this review, we sought to examine the characteristics of these interventions and their effectiveness.

1 Ιαν 2020 · For purposes of this review, an intervention was defined as a systematic manipulation of an independent variable or variables designed to influence one or more child language outcomes; or one or more parent, teacher, or caregiver outcomes associated with child language development.
The results indicate that parent-implemented language interventions have a significant, positive impact on receptive and expressive language skills of children with and without intellectual disabilities.
The research literature provides multiple examples of classroom-based interventions that are effective in facilitat-ing the language growth of children with disabilities (Fleury & Schwartz, 2017; Hepting & Goldstein, 1996; Kaiser & Roberts, 2011; Schwartz, Thomas, McBride, & Sandall, 2013).
