So if your focus is on 1080P for the majority of your media, you would choose x265 over x264 for future downloads? I'm trying to tweak Sonarr/Radarr qualities and debating on which one I want to go with.
All my videos are 1080p as I typically play retro games like N64 and that allows me to take the 4:3 aspect ratio and fill the gap that that would leave in a 16:9 with a camera feed and a bit of information about the game.

ProRes is useful as an intermediate codec if you plan to edit again later. If you want optimal quality in small files h.265 is the best option. A 100mbit h.265 file will look better than a 100mbit ProRes file. I think it only really matters where it’s going to end up. Are you putting it on YouTube?
