24 Ιαν 2022 · The 3G phaseout means that older mobile phones, other devices connected to the 3G network, and some 4G phones that do not support Voice over LTE (VoLTE or HD Voice) will cease to function entirely.
GSMA members continuously update their network coverage and submit their latest data to the GSMA. Simply select the country you are visiting from the dropdown menu and the operators in that country will be listed. Choose an operator to see the extent of its coverage highlighted on the map.
4G (LTE): the previous generation is used for data, as well as voice calls (depending on your phone and carrier). It has over 90% coverage around the US, and all modern smartphones support it. You can get speeds over 150Mbps. 3G: now used for data and voice where an LTE connection is not available.
