Mousetrap Car - Explained: The mousetrap car project is a classic physics challenge: Build a vehicle that can travel as far or as fast as possible by using only the energy that can be stored in a single mousetrap. Seems simple enough, but the reason it's so popular is because…
What is a Mousetrap Car? A mousetrap powered car is a vehicle that uses a mouse trap for a motor and a string to transmit force. In this method one end of a string is attached or tied to the arm/bail on the mousetrap and the other end of the string is wound around an axle.
The mousetrap car project is an awesome way for young students to learn how to tweak different variables in order to enhance the performance of a vehicle design. We will learn how to build a mouse trap car that can go as far as possible in 4 easy steps, and how to calculate the mechanical advantage of your design.
14 Οκτ 2024 · Students design, build, and test mousetrap cars as they apply the Engineering Design Process (EDP) in this individual engineering design challenge. After researching design ideas, students build and test their mousetrap car prototypes (first model).
In this instructable I will be covering the steps on how to design and build a 3D printed mousetrap car. Supplies. - 3D printer Filament. - 3D modeling software (TinkerCAD // Autodesk Inventor) - Conventional mousetraps. - Dowels (1/8 inch and 1/4 inch) - Rubber bands. - Hot glue. - Straws. - String. - Zip ties.
Mousetraps can be used to power a car! This project results in a simple mousetrap car. It probably won’t go very far or fast, but you can see how stored, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy.
Construct your redesigned mousetrap car. Include a scale drawing of your final design, showing the size and location of the wheels, arm, mousetrap, and body. Include a photograph of your group’s car. Use additional sheets of paper if necessary. Technology Education: Learning by Design Copyright Pearson Education, Inc. 7
