Guide to Safety Data Sheet Basics. In today’s dynamic workplace, a comprehensive understanding of safety data sheets is paramount for ensuring safety, compliance, and informed-decision making. This SDS guide is aimed at equipping workers and employers with all of the basic SDS information they need to do just that.
The SDS includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical. The information contained in the SDS must be in English (although it may be in other languages as well).
The SDS is a means of transferring essential hazard information (including information on transport, handling, storage and emergency actions) from the supplier of a chemical product to the recipient of the chemical product.
