The SDS should provide comprehensive information about a substance or mixture that is used in a professional or industrial environment. It is a source of information on both environmental and health hazards and on safety precautions. The content and format of an SDS within the EEA is defined in Annex II to the REACH Regulation.
A safety data sheet (SDS), previously known as a material safety data sheet) is an important information source for eliminating or minimising the risks associated with the use, handling and storage of hazardous chemicals (hazardous substances and/or dangerous goods) in workplaces. An SDS must:
25 Ιουν 2020 · The annex II of REACH regulation sets the content and format requirements for chemical safety data sheets in the EU. The new regulation means that there will be revised requirements for SDSs for the EU market. In this article, we would like to give you a brief summary of what the main changes are.
The SDS includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical. The information contained in the SDS must be in English (although it may be in other languages as well).
