4 Ιαν 2022 · An acrostic poem is a poem in which the first letter (or sometimes the first syllable) of each line spells out a word, name, or sentence. A good example is Lewis Carroll’s untitled poem, usually called “Life Is but a Dream,” at the end of Through the Looking-Glass.

6 Μαΐ 2020 · At 176 verses, Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. It is an alphabetic acrostic poem, which makes my English-teacher-nerdy heart happy. When we teach acrostic poetry today, we typically focus on how a vertical line in a horizontal poem becomes a word or phrase of its own.
