Accelerated Reader (AR) is an educational program created by Renaissance Learning. It is designed to monitor and manage students' independent reading practice and comprehension in both English and Spanish. The program assesses students' performance through quizzes and tests based on the books they have read.
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a popular reading program used in schools. AR helps teachers track students’ independent practice and progress with reading. It’s not specifically designed for kids who learn and think differently.

The Accelerated Reader program is designed to test whether a student actually read a particular book quickly enough that they remember the whole story and with attention paid to detail. AR also levels the books so that students are reading within a range that will encourage growth. We call these ranges a student’s ZONE.
AR is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor childrens independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his/her own level and reads it at his/her own pace.
Accelerated Reader, at its heart, is simple. With Accelerated Reader, a student reads a book, takes an online quiz, and gets immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
