• Prejudice is a preconceived negative attitude. Stereotypes are beliefs about another group - beliefs that may be accurate, inaccurate, or overgeneralized but based on a kernel truth. Discrimination is unjustified negative behavior.

A test thought to measure unconscious (implicit) prejudices according to the speed with which people can pair a target face (e.g., black or white, old or young, Asian or white) with a positive or negative association (e.g., the words honest or evil)
What Is Prejudice? What makes something, say a particular attitude or belief, an expression of prejudice? What defines a particular attitude as racist or sexist? We are often asked these questions by our students, reporters, and sometimes (although perhaps not often enough) by policymakers.
The model suggests that the stereotype is automatically activated in the presence of a member (or some symbolic equivalent) of the stereotyped group and that low-prejudice responses require controlled inhibition of the automatically activated stereotype.
