21 Ιουλ 2024 · In Christian theology, being "born again" is understood as a spiritual rebirth. It signifies a profound transformation or conversion experience where an individual turns away from a life apart from God and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The only way one can come to God and experience what it means to be “born again” is through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ; read John 14:6. The Bible clearly teaches in Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5, and Romans 10:13 that salvation is a gift; it cannot be earned in any way.
Most people believe the definition of "born again" refers to what happens when a person accepts Jesus or is baptized. The Bible, however, teaches something completely different!
15 Αυγ 2019 · The term, “born again” was introduced to Nicodemus in the Bible and explained by Jesus in Scripture. A person is “born again” through faith in Jesus Christ, who took the judgement for our sins to give his righteousness to anyone who would believe.
Being born again signifies that sincere repentance has taken place (Mosiah 27:24; cf. Alma 5:49–51). Those who are born again enter into a covenant with God to “be obedient unto the end of [their] lives” ( Mosiah 5:8 ).
A born-again Christian is someone who has repented of their sins and turned to Christ for their salvation, and as a result has become part of God’s family forever. All this takes place as God’s Spirit works in our lives.
