The main thing to know about Mac's is they will follow whatever the device chain is. So if the chain includes HDCP, the Mac will always output HDCP, regardless if the content is HDCP or not. By the same token, if the signal chain is not HDCP, the Mac will not output an HDCP signal (though if you play HDCP content, it will not play, obviously).
