27 Μαρ 2016 · For most who do not know, IPv6 is the successor to the overloaded IPv4 Internet protocol. IPv4 in a nutshell is recognized as the 4 dotted decimal addresses you type to join a minecraft server, ex:72.88.232.101.
By default, if net.ipv6.bindv6only is set to 0 (the default), a server listening on :: can accept v4 connections too. You can verify with telnet 127.1 25565. Your problem isn't that it's listening on :: (and in general that's what servers should be listening on). Check any inbound firewalls (both on this machine and on the router).
