A decision tree is a simple model for supervised classi cation. It is used for classifying a single discrete target feature. Each internal node performs a Boolean test on an input feature (in general, a test may have more than two options, but these can be converted to a series of Boolean tests).

Abstract. Location contexts are geographic regions, with well defined bounda-ries, that can be used to characterize the context of the persons lying inside them. In this paper we describe a process that exploits the increasing availabil-ity of geographic data to automatically create and classify location contexts.
Decision trees have a variable-sized hypothesis space. As the #nodes (or depth) increases, the hypothesis space grows. Depth 1 (“decision stump”): can represent any boolean function of one feature. Depth 2: any boolean function of two features; some involving three features (e.g., (x1 ^ x2) _ (¬x1 ^ ¬x3) ) etc.
