15 Ιουν 2021 · Apple Files can now read NTFS-formatted media. NTFS is now supported by Apple’s iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 software, with a catch. While you can now read Windows-formatted NTFS drives that appear in the Files app on your iPhone and iPad, you cannot write to NTFS volumes.
You can’t write to ntfs on iPad OS and MacOS. Well on Mac you have to install an app or use terminal commands to be able to write on ntfs. You have to format it to the either fat, exfat or APFS.

Up until now, iPad’s Files app could only read external hard drives formatted in exFAT or FAT32, and of course Apple’s own APFS. With the new update, Apple has added the functionality to support the NTFS file system as well.
