What are Pebax® elastomers? Pebax® elastomers are block copolymers that offer the best combination of performance (mechanical, chemical, processing) among thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). The name Pebax® is derived from its own chemistry, polyether block amide.
The Pebax ® family spans a wide range of hardness and flexibility values, which provides freedom when designing parts. It's also possible to overmold hard and soft Pebax ® grades with each other and even other materials like PA11, PA12, and TPU to attain effective combinations of properties.
Polyether block amide or PEBA is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). It is known under the tradename of PEBAX® (Arkema) and VESTAMID® E (Evonik Industries). It is a block copolymer obtained by polycondensation of a carboxylic acid polyamide (PA6, PA11, PA12) with an alcohol termination polyether (Polytetramethylene glycol PTMG), PEG).
Pebax® nylons have high elastic memory, better low temperature properties, and higher elongation at break than other thermoplastic elastomers. It is available with a Shore D hardness range from 35 to 72. This produces a broad spectrum of mechanical properties which make it perfect for catheter jackets; varying degrees
Pebax® thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) - A family of lightweight polymers that offer unmatched energy return and cold temperature durability for dynamic applications. Download the Pebax® TPE brochure. What are Pebax® polymers? Pebax® polymers are block copolymers made up of rigid polyamide blocks and soft polyether blocks.

Pebax ® thermoplastic elastomers consist of polyamide and polyether backbone blocks. These specialty elastomers offer very low material density, a wide range of shore hardness values, extremely efficient energy return (over a wide temperature range) and are optionally biobased.
