Power only trucking is a full truckload capacity solution where the driver isn’t tasked with bringing a trailer to move freight. Instead, the driver connects to a trailer that is usually leased or owned by a shipper or 3PL.
To find loads for pickup trucks, you need a load board subscription. With the DAT load board, you can search for hot shot or specialty loads, and narrow your search based on the size and dimensions of your trailer. But make sure you don’t narrow your search too much, or you’ll eliminate potential matches.
Finding a Load: you’ll typically use a load board to find available power-only loads. Once you find a load, you’ll contact the broker or shipper to negotiate the terms of the load, including the pick-up and delivery dates, the payment rate, and any other details.
