What happens when my cat/dog is admitted for an operation? On the morning of the procedure you will have an admission appointment with either one of our vets or nurses where they will discuss the procedure and complete your consent form. This appointment usually takes about 15 minutes so please allow plenty of time.

It acts as an admission checklist, and should be used to verify the animal’s identity, client’s details and surgical procedure to be performed (Figure 1).

No food should be given after 10pm the evening before surgery but water should be available overnight.
