16 Οκτ 2023 · A resistor limits the electrical current that flows through a circuit. Resistance is the restriction of current. In a resistor the energy of the electrons that pass through the resistor are changed to heat and/or light. For example, in a light bulb there is a resistor made of tungsten which converts the electrons into light.
The collisions between electrons and atoms in a conductor cause resistance to the flow of charge. We measure that resistance in order to determine the effect that it will have on current. Scientists measure resistance in ohms (rhymes with homes).
A resistor represents a given amount of resistance in a circuit. Resistance is a measure of how the flow of electric current is opposed or "resisted." It is defined by Ohm's law which says the resistance equals the voltage divided by the current.
11 Ιουλ 2021 · Resistance (also known as ohmic resistance or electrical resistance) is a measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit. Resistance is measured in ohms, symbolized by the Greek letter omega (Ω). The larger resistance, the greater the barrier against the flow of current.
The electrical resistance of an electrical conductor is a measure of the difficulty of passing an electric current through a substance. It explains the relationship between voltage and the current. With more resistance in a circuit, less electricity will flow through the circuit.
