The Mīzāb ar-Raḥmah, commonly shortened to Mīzāb or Meezab is a rain spout made of gold. Added when the Kaaba was rebuilt in 1627, after a flood in 1626 caused three of the four walls to collapse.
25 Μαΐ 2021 · In 1982, the door was beautified with solid gold. The black silk cloth piece, called Kiswah, which covers Kaaba, used to come from Egypt with the caravan of pilgrims coming for Hajj. Today, Saudi Arabia produces that cloth piece. It has calligraphy done in gold thread that represents the verses of the Quran in Arabic.
27 Μαΐ 2024 · The Ka’bah is made from granite taken from the hills near Makkah, and stands 15 meters (49 feet) high, the sides measure 10.5 m (34′) by 12 m (39′). Today the Ka’bah is covered by a black silk cloth decorated with gold-embroidered calligraphy known as the kiswah.
The door of the Kaaba is now made of solid gold; it was added in 1982. The kiswa, a large cloth that covers the Kaaba, which used to be sent from Egypt with the hajj caravan, today is made in Saudi Arabia.
The internal floor of the Kaaba is covered with white marble, bordered by a black marble strip. The internal walls are covered with rose-coloured marble up to a height of about 4 meters. This marble is fixed in such a way that it does not come into contact with the original walls of the Kaaba.
