The University of Florida (UF) uses a unique method to recalculate GPAs of incoming freshmen. They primarily focus on the academic core subjects like Mathematics, Social Science, Science, English, and Foreign Languages for GPA calculation.
To graduate magna cum laude, students must have an upper-division GPA of 3.5, have earned an “A” or “B” in at least one semester of ENG 4936 (Honors Seminar); and have completed one semester of ENG 4970 Honors Thesis, earning at least a “B+.”
Undergraduate registration in graduate courses: Upper-division undergraduate students may enroll in 5000-level courses with consent of the instructor. Normally, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.00.
