My new PC has 16gb of RAM but all of my steam games are still limited to 2gb of VRAM, meaning I have to play on very low settings with frequent frame drops. Does anybody know how to increase the VRAM limit to 8gb or even 12?

18 Φεβ 2023 · There is a VRAM leak associated with the Vulkan API, it's been a problem for a while now. I'll instruct you on how to address it. So first you want to go into steam settings, shader pre-caching, enable both settings in there.

For VRAM 100% usage just means it’s full of data, and >100% means the game is trying to reserve more data than you have room for. There is absolutely nothing to worry about from a system health perspective, but going over your VRAM limit will typically result in stuttering or hitching.
It was like 12.2gb needed and my card is at 12 GB. Despite this it still lets you save the settings and run the game, it just gives you a warning message saying you've exceeded your gpu's memory limit.
There are already a couple of topics here about people seeing low-poly shapes instead of characters and monsters, also the texture quality looks not just low-res, but really terribly smudgy, as if they haven't even't loaded properly.
