What's the difference between a 5wt and a 7.5 weight? This table gives a comparison of all major oil company suspension fluids.
27 Ιαν 2012 · If you want to use the same weight as what Honda put in it which is "Pro Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8 or Pro Honda HP" (which is actually 10wt suspension oil), you can use any of the brands listed adjacent to the Honda oil in this viscosity chart posted on the following website.
2 Φεβ 2022 · According to a previous post by Dave, Honda SS-8 is 10 weight oil, so the Maxima should be good if that is what you want.
Most suspension units use approximately a 5Wt (SAE). But, due to the international SAE standard being so loose, one oil company's 5Wt can be the same viscosity as another's 7.5Wt. 20 Νοε 2012 · No. Pro Honda SS-8 is 10w. I think they do that to confuse us. I would go with 10 weight fork oil as a factory replacement in low performance Shadow forks. That's what I've been doing all along.
Keep your ride running smooth with Genuine Showa fluid. This formula is designed to be used with either standard forks or cartridge-type setups and recommended for heavier loads and firmer-style handling. Buy the Pro Honda SS-8 10W Suspension Fluid for only $6.39 or check out our massive selection of Fork Oil. No Hassle Returns. A+ BBB Rating.
4 Μαΐ 2015 · Recommended fluid is Pro Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8, 128MM air gap. Capacity is 18.6 oz in left and 17.1 oz in right. I think it's a 10 weight oil if you want to get a different kind. Maxima 165-150 10w has specs very close to the Honda and it's 1/3 of the price. ATF works just fine also, but if a Honda shop is close, why not use that?
