Wheaton College has a transfer cap of 40 hours earned from all sources (AP, IB, SAT II, Dual Enrollment, etc.) prior to high school graduation. A maximum of 4 categories in the Thematic Core can be met by transfer credit. Transfer credit will not be accepted for any Shared Core requirements.

Transfer student credit is assessed upon acceptance. Continuing students wishing to take courses at another college must complete a Transfer Credit Approval Form prior to taking the course to confirm that the course will transfer to Wheaton College, for the requirement they are seeking to meet.
Many Wheaton students complete summer school work or college-level work at other institutions while on leave of absence from Wheaton. The process for earning Wheaton degree credit for this work is outlined on the Application for Transfer Credit Form available in the Office of the Registrar.
Credits from a conferred degree cannot be transferred. Courses taken more than eight years prior to enrollment at Wheaton may not be transferable.
