  1. When to Start Taking a Lamaze Class. Most expectant parents begin Lamaze classes during the third trimester, around the seventh month. It’s important to register early (6 to 8 weeks prior) since classes fill quickly. Some classes last approximately 6 weeks, meeting for 60 to 90 minutes each week.
