15 Ιαν 2011 · Helson makes darn good watches and you'd be surprised how many small and large brands (of watches) are actually made in China. It's all up to the individual company to put in place the specs, requirements, QC, and final acceptance of their product to their standards and expectations.
The Helson Sharkmaster 300 is a beautiful recreation of the iconic SM300 design from Omega. Helson manages to bring their own build characteristics into this watch by delivering a hefty and rugged case and bracelet, while maintaining all the important aesthetic details of the original SM300.

In addition to the case designs, a bevy of color options and a choice of movements make this series of Helson watches accessible quality at different price ranges.
Helson is fairly good as well, but I've never paid much attention to them because they're mostly all homages. Additionally, there's nothing wrong with watches manufactured in China provided they are held to the right standard.

11 Ιαν 2012 · The case of the Skindiver is made of 316L surgical stainless steel with a satin brushed finished. As far as I can tell from pics the Fifty Fathoms was polished, but I quite like what it does for the watch, and it feels appropriate.
