Minerals are items that can be found in the Mines and the Skull Cavern. Most minerals are acquired from geodes after having Clint process them. Some are found on the ground and some can be mined from nodes, which are also found in the Quarry.
The deeper the better iirc, so 110-119 will probably be your best bet. And get a crystallarium asap to help boost that income. If you want to mine for money, your best bet is to unlock skull cavern and get iridium. Farming diamonds isn’t a very strategy.
The Diamond is a Mineral that can be obtained primarily from Diamond Nodes and Gem Nodes in the Mines, Skull Cavern, Quarry, and Volcano Dungeon. After reading The Diamond Hunter, any rock has a small chance of yielding a Diamond when mined by hand.
