A unit of the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Battlefield Park, the Wilderness battlefield features extensive walking trails that allow visitors to explore this hallowed ground. Stop by the Chancellorsville Visitor Center on Virginia Route 3 (the Plank Road) for museum exhibits and an orientation to the area.
27 Απρ 2023 · The park’s 300 acres encompass the main battlefield areas, including the historic Bushong Farm and the Virginia Museum of the Civil War. The museum focuses on the many Civil War battles of Virginia, but goes in-depth on the New Market Battle in particular.

The Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center – Located 10 minutes away, it features exhibits on the battle of the Wilderness and Chancellorsville and Spotsylvania Court House. Chancellorsville: Museum Shop – The gift shop is located in the visitor center; Civil War books, collectibles, and clothing items will be found.
Ellwood Manor is a well-preserved plantation home located on the Wilderness Battlefield and is important as a Confederate field hospital following the battle of Chancellorsville, headquarters for Union General Gouverneur K. Warren during the battle of the Wilderness, and the site of visits by Generals Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant in 1863 ...
In addition to museum exhibit galleries, the site features the state-certified Shenandoah Valley Tourist Information Center, an Emmy-winning film, Field of Lost Shoes shown every hour, and a 300-acre battlefield park preserving the core areas of the battlefield and historic Bushong Farm.
