1 Δεκ 2012 · [Paul] entrusted that letter [Romans] to a “deacon” called Phoebe whose work was taking her to Rome. The letter-bearer would normally be the one to read it out to the recipients and explain its contents. The first expositor of Paul’s greatest letter was an ordained travelling businesswoman.
2 Σεπ 2024 · Letter of Paul to the Romans, sixth book of the New Testament and the longest and doctrinally most significant of Saint Paul the Apostle’s writings. It was probably composed at Corinth in about 57 and was addressed to the Christian church at Rome, whose congregation Paul hoped to visit for the first time.

So Phoebe not only traveled from Corinth in Greece to the city of Rome (no small undertaking in the ancient world!), but she also represented Paul and his gospel message to the Roman Christians.
27 Οκτ 2018 · The letter was dictated by Paul to Tertius, a Christian colleague (see Romans 16:22). Phoebe – a believer from Cenchrea (the eastern port of Corinth) – probably took the letter by hand from Corinth to Rome (see Romans 16:1-2).
Romans was likely written while Paul was staying in the house of Gaius in Corinth. The epistle was probably transcribed by Paul's amanuensis Tertius and is dated AD late 55 to early 57. Ultimately consisting of 16 chapters, versions of the epistle with only the first 14 or 15 chapters circulated early.
In order to announce his coming, Paul dictated a Letter to his secretary, Tertius , and entrusted it, apparently, to Phoebe, “a deaconess of the Church at Cenchreae” , who was about to travel to Rome. But if he wanted simply to announce his arrival, why did he send so lengthy a Letter?
18 Μαρ 2024 · The letter to the Romans was written from Corinth just prior to Paul’s trip to Jerusalem to deliver the alms that had been given for the poor there. He had intended to go to Rome and then on to Spain (Romans 15:24), but his plans were interrupted when he was arrested in Jerusalem.
