In the 2004 Hollywood film Troy, the character Paris was played by actor Orlando Bloom. He is not killed by Philoctetes in this version, but leaves the falling city of Troy together with Helen and survives. Paris is portrayed as an irresponsible prince who put his romance before his family and country.
The Greeks won many important battles and the Trojan hero Hector fell, and was even dragged through the city of Troy behind a war chariot. However, the Greeks could not break down the walls of Troy. Patroclus was killed and, soonafter, Achilles was killed by Paris.
Paris was a Trojan Prince and son of King Priam in Greek Mythology. Famously, Paris was also the man who abducted Helen, an event that brought forth a thousand ship, the Trojan War, and ultimately the destruction of Troy.
Paris was eventually mortally wounded by Philoctetes; at that point, Helen tried to find Oenone, who had promised to heal any wounds that he would suffer. However, the nymph, still angry that Paris had abandoned her for Helen, refused to give any help.
13 Σεπ 2019 · The Paris Trojan War began when Helen, the wife of Menelaos, the Spartan king, was abducted by the Trojan prince Paris. Helen was taken as his prize when he chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess among the deities of the Greek pantheon much to Hera and Athena’s dismay.
Aphrodite saves Paris’s life, and the armies agree to a truce. But Hera is bent on war, so she makes a Trojan named Pandarus break the truce. When the battle starts again, the great Greek warrior Diomedes nearly kills the Trojan Aeneas, whom Apollo saves. Diomedes even wounds Ares himself.
21 Αυγ 2023 · Paris eventually died of his wounds, and Helen remarried, this time to Paris’ brother, Deiphobus. Some myths say that Oenone felt so distraught at the death of Paris that she jumped to his funeral pyre and died with him. After the city of Troy fell, Menelaus would kill Deiphobus and take Helen back with him.
