From the 1970s onwards, production of Epiphone guitars has largely taken place in Japan, Korea and China (refer section "Manufacturing", below), with a very small number of models also produced in the U.S.A. Since the 2000s, Epiphone branded guitars have fallen broadly into three categories.

Epiphone struck again in 1936, increasing the size of its De Luxe, Broadway, and Triumph by an inch, making them 3/8” wider than Gibson’s archtops and some of the most distinctive instruments on the market. By the mid-1930s, Epiphone guitars were considered to be among the best in the world.
2 Οκτ 2023 · Epiphone introduced electric guitars late in 1935, at first with the Electar brand, and the following year added its new F.T. flat-tops. Epi hired Herb Sunshine to develop the new-fangled electric instruments, and Herb in turn hired Nat Daniel, later of Danelectro fame, to create the necessary amplifiers.
The majority of Epiphone guitars are manufactured in the Epiphone Qingdao factory located in Qingdao, China. This factory is responsible for creating both the popular Inspired By Gibson line as well as Epiphone’s range of original instruments.
