If when installing PS3 Firmware on RPCS3 you get an "failed to write file" error and that file is a .txt file, then you have a defective anti-virus. Some bad anti-virus software, like Avast, decided that, for some reason, programs that write .txt files to your computer should be treated as Ransomware and blocked from working.
For some reason, I can't download the 4.87 firmware update from the playstation website. The button does not work.
I have the latest version of RPCS3 and PS3s firmware, but when I try to install the firmware it says that the PUP contents are invalid. I'm on Linux and my specs are I7 6700k, integrated GPU and 8 GB of 3000mhz RAM. If anybody needs more info I'll try to provide it.
I am running RPCS3 v0.0.5-7486-90f81659 Alpha. My specs are: CPU: i5-3330 CPU @ 3GHz 4 threads. RAM: 8 Gigs. GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Whenever I attempt to install the Ps3UPDAT.PUP file (V. 4.83) the entire program crashes after reaching the 60% mark.
You can extract firmware modules from your ps3 or from a software update file called PS3UPDAT.PUP using a PUP extractor. We don't have a guide on that yet, though, but you should be able to find many guides on YouTube for that purpose.
2 Μαΐ 2019 · To check if your PS3 is recognizing your device, goto the Video/Photo/Music columns. It will show up there if the PS3 recognizes it. If you want to check the md5, check the file on the USB after copying. This way you know the download was good AND that it copied to USB correctly.
