Starbucks outage and reported problems map. Starbucks is a coffee retailer which offers orders through a mobile app as well as a Starbucks rewards account. This heat map shows where user-submitted problem reports are concentrated over the past 24 hours.
What Starbucks fails to understand is that we need to guarantee hours. If someone is hired for full time, we should be able to give them 40 hours, no matter what. This would solve both our chronic labour problem where stores are always short staffed even if everything is “according to plan” and it would keep our baristas happier.

I have heard now from multiple sources that corporate is implementing a new policy that all partners must work a minimum of 16 hours each week. And that partners who can’t meet the requirement will be fired. If this is true then 1) it seems really sketchy and 2) like a third of my store will be fired. I’m a student and can only work 10 ...
A couple reasons. 1) the company has generally cut labor down post-holiday season due to generally less customers (it’s the slow season for a lot of the industry after all). They’ll throw a lot more labor during the holiday season as demand is higher (I’m sure there’s other reasons why that is also).
