INTRODUCTION. These reports summarize some of the major studies and stock assessment activities by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on Lake Michigan and Green Bay in 2020. They provide specific information about the major sport and commercial fisheries and describe trends in some of the major fish populations.
Fishing Wisconsin. Each survey report listed here is a summary document that outlines significant findings and observations obtained during a survey conducted by staff of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and subsequent analysis of the data by DNR staff.
Most recently, surveys of Wisconsin waterfowl hunters have led to the changing of the Wisconsin waterfowl hunting zones and the newly established Lake Michigan and Green Bay open water zone (hereafter Open Water zone) and the elimination of the Mississippi River zone.
The Revamped Survey. Our new survey method will be hosted through Microsoft Forms[1] and can be accessed by this link or QR code to the right. The survey consists of two sections. Section #1, the Hunter Harvest Section, looks to determine what species are harvested, and where harvest is occurring in these open water environments.
