To be income eligible for WIC benefits, an economic unit (household) may earn up to and including 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Procedure: The State Agency will provide the WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines to Local Agencies each year. The guidelines will be effective on or before July 1, each year.
25 Μαρ 2024 · Income eligibility for the WIC program is determined using income standards as prescribed under Section 9 (b) of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (42 USC 1758 (b)). The income limit is 185 percent of the Federal poverty guidelines, as adjusted.
Many working people are eligible for WIC and don't realize it. For example, in 2022: • a household of 2 can have a gross income up to $33,874 a year. • a household of 4 can have a gross income up to $51,338 a year. WIC impacts Kansas families and counties.
