You can achieve dual outputs on an unmodded Wii using a component video splitter and you can get HDMI with a YPbPr-to-HDMI converter…but none will look and sound as clear as this. This is by far my favorite way to play Wii games.

Component video uses component cables (red-green-blue-audiored-audiowhite). The Wii doesn't come with a component cable, but it can be bought separately for cheap. Similar to the composite cable, the Wii component cable has the proprietary Wii AV end, but the other end is where it's different.

It seems that for all my consoles up until the Wii (so SNES, N64, XB, Wii), I'm using composite cables (Monster) run into a splitter. And the splitter ITSELF is hooked up to my TV using component cables.

Ok, I may be jumping the gun here but in preparation for my Wii and the subsequent purchase of a component cable, I need a component splitter/switcher as my tv only has one input currently being used by dvd upscaler as there is no HDMI/DVI input on the tv. Does anybody know where I can get hold of one?
