You can achieve dual outputs on an unmodded Wii using a component video splitter and you can get HDMI with a YPbPr-to-HDMI converter…but none will look and sound as clear as this. This is by far my favorite way to play Wii games.
Video Output: HDMI ™. Compatibility: NTSC and PAL (all resolutions are supported!) Latency: LAG FREE!! Check out RetroRGB's review here! This tiny, power-packed module takes in the native Component video and analog audio output from the Nintendo Wii and outputs a crisp HDMI ™ video stream.
The Kit option allows for you to build your own adapter. It comes with the following. Multiout connector. Wii adapter board. 3D Printed Shell. Screw and Nut for assembly. It pairs excellently with HD Retrovision Wii component cables, but will work with any Wii component cables.
The Wii2HDMI can be appealing if, like me, you have 4 HDMI outlets on your TV and no component inputs. I have a Retrotink that can take in Component for me, but that means I have to switch that out when I switch to another system using S-Video or composite.
The Wii2HDMI converts Wii's component AV out into HDMI. I have one I bought for 15€ and an OEM component cable, I can't see any noticeable difference in the image quality.
The Kaico HDMI converter for use with Nintendo Wii consoles was designed so you could use your Nintendo Wii on a Modern TV with a simple ‘plug and play’ solution. Our high-quality converter plugs into the display port of the Wii.
If your TV has the red green blue cable inputs (component) instead of just the yellow single video cable, you really should try getting one of those cables for the wii-TV connection. It's a significant video upgrade.
