I went from a Wii2HDMI dongle that died, which worked well enough. Then went and got a pair of Monoprice component cables that gave me really good video, but I hated using component cables and wanted all of my consoles on an HDMI switch, so I bought a Hyperkin HDMI cable.
I’m planning to buy a pre-owned wii this summer but my TV only has HDMI. I don’t want higher quality or anything I just want to play it on regular 480p without any lags or any bullshit that’d interrupt my gaming. But do those adapters actually work?
5 Οκτ 2024 · I see little difference between the Wii2HDMI converters and the composite cords. There is definitely a degradation of picture quality during the conversion process that leaves you with a washed-out image. In my blind experiments, here's what I've found: Component and vWii on HDMI are the best, and it's hard to tell them apart.
If you don't mind sacrificing quality (both graphic and audio), then the Wii2HDMI should work fine. Any of them, they are all trash. I'd suggest getting a component cable and a converter if you really want decent quality.
23 Μαΐ 2022 · Pros: Build Quality. I don’t have one of the Chinese ‘Wii to HDMI’ adapters, only pictures. But you can tell that the Wii2HDMI is smaller. Not just in length but also in width. If you plug it in, it takes a little force. Once it’s plugged in, it snugly holds on the back of the Wii.

5 Οκτ 2024 · I tested the Wii2HDMI and can't say that it improved the picture quality, I'd rather say that it got washed out and thereby lost afew jaggies. The only reason I'd recommend this is if you'd lack a component in on your TV, don't waste your money if it's the "improved quality"- feature you're after.
