29 Ιουλ 2022 · The Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources estimates there are 2,000 wild goats across 100,000 acres on Hawaiʻi Island. Kanalu Sproat works with the department’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife, which is doing what it can to maintain the animal’s exploding population.

Kiholo State Park Reserve is home to some amazing wildlife, including wild goats, sea turtles, and native birds. Visitors can take a tour of Kīholo Bay and visit a black sand beach, a flooded lava tube, and a variety of other habitats.
Two Hawai’i Island State Parks allow camping. Reservations can be made 90 days in advance at Kalōpā State Recreation Area, and 30 days in advance at Kīholo State Park Reserve. Kalōpā State Recreation Area offers tent camping in addition to cabin lodging.
8 Νοε 2017 · This hike leads you through some incredible scenery including desolate lave fields, a beach made of shattered coral, and ruins filled with adorable feral goats! You can basically walk as far as you have energy/heat tolerance/water for across the lave fields.
The feral goats live on the adjacent National Park in the lava tubes but are forced to travel for fresh water. You will see many trophy goats during your stay. We offer day hunts and overnight hunts. The lodging is a comfortable cabin that looks over the Pacific Ocean at the base of Mount Haleakala.
