Wilderness slayer chests are rewarded to players for finishing Slayer assignments from Mandrith in the Wilderness. If the player's backpack is full, the chest will be placed on the ground with no notification. Items obtained from this chest do not count towards the Wilderness slayer collection log.

You're much better off getting tasks from Lania and doing them, where applicable, in the wilderness, as it opens up more/better tasks with decent drops.
Slayer assignment/Mandrith. All of the following Slayer assignments have to be completed inside the Wilderness, kills outside of the Wilderness will not count towards completion of the assignment.
Ninja Request. Just a distress call to the ninjas : we can use points to block and prefer tasks on wilderness slayer tasks, but since it's non functional, it's just a pain for new and/or returning players learning the evil truth eventually on the wiki.
Go get some slayer VIP tickets. Only do revs, hell hounds and green dragons. Those three tasks are under 5 minutes each. Skip everything else. With slayer tickets you should still profit points. I used lance for each of those tasks. You almost always 1 hit everything.
