11 Μαρ 2024 · Q: Can I use a vehicle-mounted antenna for my GMRS radio? A: Yes, vehicle-mounted antennas can be a convenient option for mobile use, but a dedicated antenna at a fixed location may provide better performance.
26 Οκτ 2024 · An easy mount location would be at the highest peak on the roof line on a short pole where coax could easily enter the attic. Again, this would require a long coax run and a long way to reach a grounding location. Don’t make a long coax run to your electrical box. Your antenna isn’t grounded to the electrical panel.
8 Νοε 2022 · Nearly all the performance of a GMRS base station is in the antenna system, which includes the antenna, the feedline and height. Of the three antennas you list I would say DPD, no. DB-408, expensive and no. Laird 4605 no, go bigger and get the 4607 rated 7dBd or 9.15dBi gain at the very minimum.
23 Ιουλ 2020 · From what I now understand, the 1/2 wave length GMRS tuned antennas are a no ground plane style antenna so I wouldn't need to worry about the grounding of my mount. So I've started looking at the LAIRD BB4502N 12.5 UHF whip antenna.
21 Απρ 2018 · For those of you running GMRS mobile rigs, how are you mounting your antennas? What lessons have you learned so far about GMRS antenna placement and (possibly) recommendations on mounts or antennas?
15 Φεβ 2020 · Ideally I would mount it like I have placed my surecall or panorama cellular antennas. The gmrs uses 450-470Mhz range of the 70cm, so I assume that a dedicated gmrs antenna would be better. For Ham, I would be using my HT, so I would want a 2m/70cm dual band.
