17 Δεκ 2020 · So I followed this guide to do so, How to Rename a Windows 10 User Folder. Thus changing my username and username folder "User Name" to "User" so it had no space. This worked for the programs I was having issues with.

Go to the C:\users\ folder and rename the subfolder with the original user name to the new user name. Go to the registry and modify the registry value ProfileImagePath to the new path name. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\<User SID>\. That's it!
3 Δεκ 2021 · I am having an issue where my username is causing errors in other software. The reason is because my username has a space in it, and certain engineering software I use cannot reach files in that folder or any subfolders. To remedy this I changed my username by replacing the space with an underscore.
3 Φεβ 2016 · Right-click on the username you wish to change and select Rename and close the window. Open Local Disk (C) > Users and right-click and rename the corresponding folder with the name you wish, just as in Step 5, and close the window.
14 Φεβ 2024 · So, basically, i just changed my username on my windows 10 PC because the old one contained a space in it and i guessed that i would have issues related to scripts relating that folder, and when i changed my username, the user folder was still the same, and it won't let me rename it, so can anyone please help me? 26 Αυγ 2022 · I would like to change (?) my Local account's username to remove the space (that also exists in my home folder) but the online guides and things I tried fail. I have tried changing the profile location in the registry, home folder etc., but something always breaks and my profile cannot load.
