My computer keeps freezing, not responding, and it will not shut down properly. What do I do to fix this! I have tried deleting temporary folders and running a virus scan and neither helps. Hi, What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on machine?
3 Φεβ 2011 · If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disc, the option to repair your computer will not appear.
Restart your computer if it is powered on. Press and hold F8 key after your computer initially powers on. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu (or hear a beep) you can stop. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter. You should see drivers loading, this may take a few moments.

Make sure you select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This can take up to several hours to complete.
