3 Απρ 2023 · If you see the message "Software Update Required" in an error message telling you that you need to update Windows when you are using Windows 7 or later then you are likely running a build older than 12.7.2.58 and the message should be telling you to update iTunes.
Basically, iTunes won't recognize my iPhone when it's not in DFU or recovery mode. I made the mistake of trying to recover it (by rebooting it in DFU mode so that it gets recognized, and then clicking restore); but as soon as the iPhone reboots itself into normal mode to install the firmware iTunes hangs..
I am running Windows XP (SP2 I think) and whenever I plug in my iPhone I get the error message unrecognized USB device. So iTunes will not recognize it and I cannot sync. My guess is that I am missing or have an out of date driver, but I don't know how to locate and install.
