Can I replace my existing rod handle with a Winn Fishing Grip? Yes. After removing the existing grip, your rod can be retrofitted with Winn Grips.
Squirt a generous amount of odorless mineral spirits inside the grip, sealing the vent hole in the butt of the grip with your finger. Close the small (mouth) end of the grip, and shake vigorously to wet the entire inside of the grip.
#1) All Winn Grips can only be installed with tape & solvent. You cannot use an air compressor to install them, as they will likely be damaged. #2) If using pre-cut tape strips, remember to remove the wax paper from BOTH sides of the tape. #3) Use plenty of solvent to lubricate the grip and shaft. #4) Slide the grip on straight.
1 Secure rod into vice using a rubber clamp. 2 Measure and cut double sided tape to desired length. Tape should be 1/4” pass the butt end. Apply to rod blank. Twist and tuck excess tape. 3 If needed, ream inside diameter of grip to fit snug to rod blank. 4 Lubricate tape and inside of grip with mineral spirits.

4 Δεκ 2016 · Change bit size and repeat until you get it to fit. The grip will need to be installed from the bottom of the blank. This does a fairly good job and there is no problem with centering.
