This regulations handbook is provided to give you knowledge of Wisconsin’s ATV/UTV laws. It also includes safety tips and recommended practices. If you have additional questions, contact the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources information desk at 1-888-936-7463.
19 Νοε 2021 · On Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR or department) lands, ATV trails are open to UTVs with few exceptions; on non DNR lands the decision is made on a case by case basis.
This official training program is developed to meet the standards for ATV/OHM safety education established by Wisconsin. Offroad Ed is the only safety course provider that develops print materials on behalf of government agencies responsible for ATV/OHM laws and regulations.
ATVs are designed for off-road use. Operate an ATV on designated trails which may include public roads. See the entire rules booklet [PDF] for further guidance and then check with your local officials for exceptions. Don't exceed manufacturer's passenger or weight limits.
