1 Σεπ 2013 · Grammar. The tenses with wishes and hypothetical situations. We use past tense forms when we talk about wishes. We use would and could to talk about wishes for the future: I wish I could find a better job. It’s been raining all week.
In English, you can use “wish” and “if only” to talk about wishes and hypotheses. The main difference is that “if only” is a stronger expression.
