Steam has a new feature called Remote Play Together that lets you add friends to your game, share your keyboard and mouse, run voice chat and so on - it essentially lets you do hot-seat multiplayer over the internet. In addition to the new patch, MW:LL will host a tournament starting November 2.
There's a lot of things the Multiplayer Battletech series did better, especially Solaris, at least from what I've heard. Dunno about 3025 tho, as it was quite in the early stages. Also, the plan is to find one of the games, and reverse engineer the code to hook up to a different server.
